Celebrating Hudson: A UTSA Graduation Session with Personality

As a Fort Worth graduation photographer, I’ve been lucky to witness some amazing journeys—but this one is extra special.

Meet Hudson. We met during undergrad at the University of North Texas where we both studied photography. Since then, I’ve had the honor of capturing not just one, but two major milestones in his life—first when he earned his undergraduate degree, and most recently, when he graduated with his Master’s in Photography from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Now, he's come full circle—back at UNT, this time as a professor of art.

Photographing Hudson’s graduate portraits was such a full-circle moment. We shot this session on the UTSA campus, where we found some gorgeous light, meaningful locations, and of course, his favorite fast-food chain—Whataburger. Because why not add a little personality and fun into your grad photos?

Hudson showed up in classic style, with a crisp button-down, his graduation regalia in tow, and that signature blend of confidence and calm that made this shoot such a breeze. From the campus landmarks to a more playful setup with a burger and shake, every part of this session felt like him.

Why Personal Details Matter in Graduation Photos

Graduation sessions are about so much more than a cap and gown. They’re a chance to reflect on the journey, celebrate your growth, and express your unique story. Whether it’s your favorite study spot, your go-to late-night snack (hello, Whataburger), or the mural-lined hallways where you spent countless hours creating—those personal touches are what make your gallery feel like you.

Looking for a Fort Worth or UNT Graduation Photographer?

If you’re a UNT or UTSA grad looking to capture your own story, I’d love to help create something that’s not just beautiful, but meaningful. Every session is personalized to highlight your achievements, your vibe, and your journey—whether that includes a burger run or a sunset cap toss.

Let’s celebrate this moment, your way.
